In September 2007 David Cameron explained how the Lisbon Treaty would change the way the EU works, how it would adversely affect the UK and why a referendum was needed.

In his 2009 Election pledge, Malcolm Harbour MEP insisted he wanted a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.
Harbour later said on TV (after the Nikki Sinclaire Referendum was scheduled) that this "was not the time" for a referendum... thus breaking his own promise.
